TR Action London Group report for issue 353

The summer months mean it has been a busy time for London Group.

The summer started with the Inter Club International at Malvern – an excellent weekend, helped by the weather, the number and variety of cars plus a great curry on Saturday night at the Gurkha Chef in Great Malvern.

Our main event of the summer was a visit to the RAC club at Woodcote Park. The day started with us meeting up at John Collins’ house for coffee and croissants before a scenic drive over Epsom Downs to Woodcote Park. Once at Woodcote Park the RAC kindly let us park on the lawn in front of the club house, producing a great photo opportunity, before heading off to breakfast. Following breakfast there was an opportunity to wander around the club house and visit the Motor House, which accommodates the Club’s heritage vehicles, including automobiles from the RAC patrol fleet and vehicles from the annual London to Brighton Veteran Car Run. Thanks goes to Brian Proctor for organising the trip and John Collins and his wife for hosting the early morning meet up.

As well as the trip to Woodcote Park, London Group members and their cars have been out and about, with trips to the Warlingham Classic Car Show, the Goodwood Breakfast Club Classic Sunday, the British Motor Show at Farnborough, the Capel Show and the Egham Royal Show. We’ve also squeezed in a couple of early Sunday morning breakfast runs out to the Plucky Pheasant at Newlands Corner.

Finally, it looks like the new venue for our club night on the first Thursday of the month is a success. Woodies Freehouse in New Malden has plenty of parking for our TRs and seems to have encouraged a few more members to come and say hello.
