Glavon Group Walking Treasure Hunt - 6th October 2024

Members and friends assembled at The Clothiers Arms, Stroud for coffee before setting off with clipboards and clues which had to be solved around the hilly streets of Stroud with their amazing array of historic buildings. The route eventually took us back to The Clothiers Arms where marking of the papers revealed that Phil Critchley and Eric Mobley had narrowly beaten Andy and Jill West by half a point!

We then all sat down to what was one of the best Pub Sunday roasts most people had encountered.

The event coincided with John Walker's 88th birthday which was celebrated in fine style including a birthday cake, complete with candles, though not 88 of them!

Many thanks go to Roger and Pauline Anderson who put a lot of effort into organising the event which was very enjoyable, and a good opportunity to meet up with friends. It was a bit disappointing however that more Glavon members were unable to attend.
