TS2 and the White Rose

TS2 and the White Rose

TS2 and the White Rose

It was a Sunny, evening in Elsecar, where we met to listen to the Barnsley Brass Band. It was a memorial for Jeff, who was a keen member. We exchanged stories with Barbara, and it made me realise how talented Jeff was. You only see each other in terms of our T.R’s and do not realise how some people have such a full life.

Unfortunately Peter is still undergoing his treatment so, he and Sylvia could not be on the outing.

We collected TS2 from the Vale of York Group on Tuesday evening and arranged for our members to have a drive outside the Cavalier, at our normal meeting place.

Brian had planned a run out to “The Oil Can Cafe” on the Wednesday and we all met up at Tankersley round about. There was a total of seven T.R's on the run, and with Peter missing we had no yellow car, to bring up the rear . Brian sent us along some stunning scenery to our destination, again it was made all the better for all the wives who also came. In his TR3A Ian used his dash cam to give us all great views of our outing. On arrival we found that the Electric supply was off to the Cafe, and it was closed. We still looked around the many classic cars that are kept there and then moved onto a very nice Public House for a meal, the other side of Holmfirth.

A gentle run home in the sun completed another very good outing, TS2 behaving very well at all times, and making a good impression on its many viewers.

We delivered TS2 to the Lea Valley group, but it took all afternoon, as it was 65 miles down the A1 to the meeting place.

All this happened in warm dry weather and we never needed to try TS2’s hood.

TS2 is a very exceptional car in that it is being driven by many drivers all around England, and many could not believe it was not being transported between groups.

My TR2 is being auctioned at “Bangers and Cash” at the end of the Month, and it made me think that possibly, I had made the wrong decision, in keeping the TR4, but its so much easier in my old age.
