WHARFEDALE SPRING CLEAN RUN MAY 2018

WHARFEDALE SPRING CLEAN RUN MAY 2018

Sunday 13th May was the Wharfedalers Spring Clean Run, organised by Steve & Nicola Ellmore, and what a great day they put together. We met at the Local Pantry Shop & Cafe in Pool in Wharfedale, due to holidays and other member commitments it was a fairly small turn out of 6 cars. But what a day we had, with fantastic weather as well.

Ready for the off

We left the Cafe heading for the first comfort stop at Pateley Bridge travelling via Farnley and Lindley Wood Reservoir. Leaving Pateley Bridge we headed for our next stop Leyburn, the route taking us past the mighty Gouthwaite Reservoir, Lofthouse and Leighton Reservoir, on through Middleham and into Leyburn.

The Bridge over the River Ure at Middleham

A half hour break in Leyburn, time to stretch the legs before heading to our lunch stop in Hawes, the run there taking us through Bainbridge. A great shot of Bainbridge village from Steve & Nicola's TR5

The White Hart turned out to be a great watering hole, and we had time for a wander around Hawes before heading for our final stop at the Kilnsey Park Estate and Fishing Lakes tearoom. We left Hawes taking the turn for Gayle / Kettlewell climbing up before dropping down through Buckden, Starbottom & Kettlewell.

What a cracking shot back down the Dale, again from Steve & Nicola's TR5.

Arrival at the Estate

It was a fantastic day out, some roads we had been on before, but they are always worth a return visit. Great day, thanks again to Steve & Nicola for organising it all.
