RED ROSE APRIL BULLETIN

8th April Meeting at The Antrobus Arms and run to Anson Engine Museum

After what feels like a long wait we will be back at The Antrobus Arms for the 8th April meeting. The meeting will be starting at 12 prompt and we will be departing on our first Sunday run of the year at 1pm to the Anson Engine Museum in Poynton, Cheshire which has been kindly organised by John and Anne Thorpe. Please come along and join us to check out the new Antrobus Arms and take part in our first run of the year.

DRIVE IT DAY - 22ND APRIL 2018

TR Register members are invited to join Red Rose Group on this year's Drive It Day Run to the Crich Tramway Village on Sunday 22nd April 2018.

The museum contains over 60 trams built between 1900 and 1930 and is set within a period village containing a pub, cafe, old-style sweetshop and tram depots and workshops. Cars will benefit from a dedicated display area within the village and old pennies will be provided on arrival as payment for tram rides through the village into the local countryside and back.

There will be a return run back through to the Peak District with the option of joining us for a Sunday Roast at The Nights Table Flash SK17 0SN. www.theknightstable.co.uk. Pre booking for the meal as required as numbers are limited

MARCH MEETING

We were back at The Hazel Pear for our March meeting with an excellent turnout for the return of the photograph competition, although I think it may have been warmer outside than it was in the room! The results were as follows. In 1st place was David and Tracie Bailey, 2nd was Mike and Carole Biddulph and in 3rd place it was Hamish Roscoe and Suzy Kelly. The top thirteen photos are now available to view on Facebook.

We have lots of events planned, with a very full calendar, including Drive it Day, TR Fest, Autumn leaves, runs after the monthly Sunday meets, all the regular events and some new events plus the return of the Thursday runs. There will be more details of all our runs and events on the Red Rose Facebook page and The TR Register Red Rose website.

TR Fest 2018

There was much excitement about the return of TR Fest which will be back on Saturday 4th August at the Antrobus Village Hall. The format will be similar to the 2016 event which proved to be very popular. Email trrredrose@hotmail.com for event details and booking forms.

Car Fest 2018 27th – 29th July Bolesworth Estate

After the success of last year, Andrew Haywood has kindly offered to organise this year's event. Entry forms are now available and early entry is strongly advised due to the popularity of the event and also the significant reduction in the entry cost compared to entry for day visitors, assuming you can get a ticket. Tatton car shows 2nd / 3rd June and 18th / 19th August 2018

Event /booking details are now available for Tatton Classic cars show on the 2nd / 3rd of June and 18th and 19th of August. There is an open invitation for all TR register members to join us. For those participating there is no fee and entry covers car and passengers representing a saving of £9 per person per day plus £6 parking. So why not join us and take advantage of the saving.

Gold Cup Oulton Park August Bank Holiday Weekend

Event and booking details are now available for The Oulton Park Gold Cup. All TR Register Members are invited to join us for the weekend and we are hoping to exceed the excellent turn out in 2017 which was attended by a large number of TR Register Groups.
