So, London Group busy as ever if nothing booked for the weakened then off to the Plucky Pheasant for a sumptuous full English Breakfast, anyway our second Group meeting of July was at the Star Malden Rushett and as usual we filled up their car park most of the discussion was around which part of the Group was going to Goodwood on the following Sunday and which part was going to Brookland’s Classic Gathering a repeat, in fact of last year.

On the 24th July at 8.00am 15 cars set off from Ockham bites, 11 arrived in convoy at the Goodwood Circuit, the remaining 4 following a decision by one driver to take an alternative route, arrived a little later and were parked in different areas however we all met up and had a great Goodwood Breakfast whist our TRLG Flag flew High. It was particularly good to see Ian Livingstone and Brian Procter albeit that both had ended up at the other end of the track. Meanwhile, back at Brookland’s Museum 5 TRLG cars were joined and supported by a number of TVG cars to help fill the booked stand, The TRLG Flag few high (yes, we have 2) and TRLG was Awarded with The Brooklands Members CCSJ “Best Club Stand 2022” amazing we may have to get a Trophy Cabinet. Well done John Headden.

The following Sunday (31st July) saw 7 cars blast over the Surrey Hills in the beautiful sunshine for a Plucky Pheasant Full English Breakfast. A great drive and back home by 11.00am

The Following Thursday was our First Group Meeting of August and for a change we met up at the Marquis of Granby on the Scilly Isles junction, it was moderately successful with more than 10 cars sadly parked all around their voluminous car park. But we will persevere as its far easier the get to for the majority of TRLG

This was followed on the 7th August, by our much anticipated a planned Putney “Show” 10 cars with both Flags flying parked in front of redeveloped office block at the Putney end of the Upper Richmond Road. This was in no small due to Chris Carey of the Bake House, Putney who had arranged access to this area and supplied us (for a small charge) with hot Chocolate, Coffee, Croissants, Pork Pies and beautiful artisan Bread. I think this can be classed as one of the High Lights of 2022 for TRLG. A BIG Thank you to both Chris Carey and David Boucher for their work on this, I also know that Steve Bamforth was heavily involved so thankyou to him as well, I had the Luxury of just turning up on time!

Our final event for this Report was the Cranleigh Classic and again we have to thank TVG, this time however we joined THEIR booked stand. 7 Cars met up at the BP station on the A3 and following a quick negotiation with the Marshalls at Cranleigh we were directed to Zone C, where we met up with David of TVG we erected our Gazebo flew our Flag and a had a right Royal time at this fantastic Show.

As I write this report the TRLG Trailer is currently on my drive at home ready to be loaded for the TR INTERNATIONAL WEEKEND MEET – UP as organised in by Wayne, after the unfortunate demise of the 2022 Stafford event

So finally, then come and join us for a noggin and a natter over a beer, you are most welcome. See our upcoming dates below - please keep an eye on your emails or on the web site http://www.tr-register.co.uk/group/london.
