TR Action London Group report for issue 330

TR Action London Group report for issue 330

Well, a short report this month, things are very slowly beginning to get back to normal at London Group (whatever that is these days!).

For Drive it day we headed down to West Wittering for some Fish & Chips on the Beach, our chosen meeting place was Ockham Bites which turned out to be VERY, VERY busy. 15 TR’s arrived and had to park all over the place, we knew that not all of the cars were going to arrive in West Wittering many had arrived to just show willing and had a busy day ahead of them. So, 15 cars set off on a circuitous DID route to West Wittering. Cars dropped off waving furiously on the Drive will eventually 6 cars arriving on the south coast at Wittering for some very well-deserved fish and chips. Whereupon I remembered no Suntan Lotion so got sunburnt especially my face which the following day began to peel, Shaving was such fun!

We have also restarted our regular twice-monthly meet-ups as “rule of 6” meetings booked in at our regular haunts of The Star in Malden Rushett and the Rose of York in Richmond. Being clever at our first meeting of the month at the Star we separately booked two tables of Six, as we knew we would be about 12+, unfortunately one Table turned out to be at the Front of the Pub whilst the other was in the Garden at the Back!

A few of us also braved the changeable May weather to join the TR track day at Castle Combe, where a great time was had by all, despite one session being stopped due to a torrential downpour. Many thanks to Kevin Bryant for organising the session.

Finally, you should be reading this just ahead of The London Classic Car Show at Syon Park, 25 – 27 June, where the London Group will be helping man the TR Register stand, so do come along and say hello.
