MERRY CHRISTMAS

First let me start by wishing all of you a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. It hardly seems possible that this year has almost run its course. Still at least it's not too long now to the start of the 2019 TR'ing season when we can all look forward to getting out and about to enjoy our cars and the great company that you get from being a member of TR Lincs. There's a lot to read in this issue including a selection of the TR Lincs events planned for next year. As well as the events listed here there will of course be our regular runs and national TRR events to look forward to. These will be published in our events calendar which I hope to get out before the end of the year. Please take the time to scroll through this newsletter, you may be surprised at what you find! On a personal note I was surprised and honoured to be awarded a Clubman Award at the November TR Register AGM. These are presented each year to those individuals who have volunteered or worked on a specific initiative throughout the last 12 months. This award is in recognition of all the hard work that all of you, as members of TR Lincs, have done when asked to volunteer to assist in events such as the International Weekends held at Lincoln and the way in which you promote and support the TR Register and the Lincolnshire group. This award then is in recognition of us all

I hope to see some of you our meeting this Monday (17th) at the Black Horse in Ingham where we will have some festive treats to enjoy. If not then I'll look forward to seeing you next year.

Tour of North Yorkshire - November 2018

Unexpected glorious weather for mid-November saw six TR Lincs cars head off into the North Yorkshire moors for a short mid-week break centred on the Burn Hall Hotel, Huby just 10 miles north of York. Crossing the Humber Bridge into the East Riding it seemed almost high summer with the Humber an azure blue (well a light brown) we had a glorious run around Beverley stopping for lunch at Flamborough Head. A gentle run then to the hotel before gathering for dinner. The following day saw the group head off across the moors and descending Rosdale Chimney Bank which features on the worlds most dangerous roads website. Our descent was met with the now almost compulsory coffee and cake stop at the Graze on the Green in the picturesque village of Rosedale Abbey. Suitably refreshed off we set for luncheon at the Forge in Aislaby just outside Whitby. Next stop Aidensfield in Heartbeat country, aka Goathland, with a chance to walk lunch off. Before we know it it's time to head back to base for yet more food! The last morning saw us visit the York Bird of Prey Centre which shares the same site as the hotel. What a great place this was. Being so close to birds of prey and being entertained by a clearly dedicated proprietor in his "flying show" truly made a great end to the tour.

Looking Ahead ........

Our Annual General Meeting will take place at the Black Horse, Ingham on January 21st, 2019. As in previous years all elected positions are up for renewal. Formal notice will be given at the end of December but in the meantime if you would like to have a go at being Group Leader, Treasurer, Secretary or Competition Secretary then think about getting your nomination ready.

There is still time to join the many fellow members attending our Annual Dinner at the Washingborough Hall Hotel next February. We now have the menu available to further tempt you, click here to see it. Full details are available on our TR Lincs events page.

We will be joined by fellow TRR members from the Abbot and Stour group who will I'm sure add to our enjoyment of this great county.

Join our local run commemorating Bomber Command based in Lincolnshire. Our run will take in a number of former and current RAF airfields in the county before ending up at the International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln.
