Kennet Valley Group Annual Members Meeting heralds in a New ERA

Kennet Valley Group held their Annual Members Meeting, the meeting allows member of the TR Register local Group, to be more involved in the running of the local club by becoming a member of the local or national committee, giving your opinion, or just helping outside of the committee. As part of the constitution of the club, we are obliged (although not mandatory) to hold an Annual Member Meeting to give a point at which changes can be made, and this gives the members the opportunity to:

Ensure that the Group is organised and administered effectively, Receive information of the financial status and activities of your Group. Give an opportunity to have a voice in running your Group. Consider nominations and to elect or re-elect your Group Leader and committee members

At this years meeting, Phil Horsley stood down as Group Leader after 12 years and handed over to Stewart Highnett who will bring in a new era and continued success of this, one of the oldest established local Groups in the TR Register.

This is the committee for 2022-23:

The AMM is not just business, but there are awards too, the Nut of the Year award, which was not presented this year due to low activity of the club, and also the Bright Spark Award which was presented to Phil Dryden for bringing fresh ideas to the KVG and his work within the TR Register’s future planning.

You can read through the AMM presentation here: KVG AMM 2021-22

As you can see Phil will remain on the committee to support Stewart into the role, and of course Phil and his wife Jill were not allowed just to stand down without any thanks. Phil was presented with an superb collage of events and times together with KVG members and friends created by Linda & Emrhys Barrell (THANK YOU BOTH!) and Jill with some a beautiful bouquet of flowers by the longest member Mike Gush.

I look forward to coming along and being with you  all at the next meetings enjoying being a Kennet Valley Group member.

Jill Added: I just wanted to add a Huge Thank You to everyone for the lovely Picture Collage of the years to date of Phil’s and my time spent with you in the KVG and for the lovely Flowers to mark the occasion of Phil stepping down as Group Leader after 12 years.
