Bob Moss Writes:-

3rd September saw the annual East Saxons Picnic take place at Alan & Jan Savile’s farm and as usual was well attended, a nice hot sunny afternoon to relax and enjoy catching up. A chance for the men to take a look round Alans workshop and see what projects he’s working on, always something new to see. We were unable to attend this year due to a trip to Yorkshire but all being well we will be there next year. I understand I missed out on some very nice cakes made by Jan, many thanks to Alan & Jan for hosting.

The next event was the Colchester Castle show, a show we’ve attended for a number of years and this year didn’t disappoint, a large number of car clubs represented as well and individual entrants, the show run by the Headway Charity raising money for a very good cause. We had 6 cars attend and again a warm sunny day to chill out and enjoy looking at all makes of classic cars, motorcycles and even some military vehicles. Some members found time to make their way into Town for a bit of retail therapy.

Next up was the Round Britain Reliability Run (RBRR) in which East Saxons had two entrants, Richard & Andrew along with Karl & Nathan both of which completed the event in Triumph GT6’s. The weather that greeted them in Scotland was atrocious, very heavy rain, flooding, as well as road closures and diversions to cope with, but even with all this they both managed to complete the event, well done to all and we look forward to full report for our East Saxons Periodical magazine.
