TR Register Cleveland Group – TS2

TR Register Cleveland Group – TS2

The following notes are to give you detail of the imminent arrival of TS2 in our area. If you would like to be involved, we would very much like to see you at some point in the activities.

Thursday 14th July:

12:30 Picking up TS2 at Rievaulx Abbey (Overflow car park) from East Riding TR Group. Then drive back up Bilsdale, through Stokesley and into Middlesbrough for a photo session at the Transporter Bridge, estimated around 14:30 -15:30.

Friday 15th July

11:00 Meet at Broken Scar Pumping Station, Conniscliffe Road, Darlington.

Drive to Croft Circuit for photo session at pits (To be Confirmed), then drive to Tan Hill pub (Britain’s highest pub) for a meal. This will be an opportunity for any TR Register members to have a drive of TS2. All we need is to see your membership card and driving licence, and fill in a log book in TS2. We expect to arrive at Tan Hill about 12:30, or slightly later if the Croft Circuit visit is confirmed. If you are interested in going and need to know up to date times, contact me (see below)

Drive back from Tan Hill to Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle via the Stang. Time depends on how many people come to Tan Hill and want to drive the car. For now estimated time at Bowes Museum is 4pm.

Saturday 16th July

TS2 will be at Preston Park, Stockton from around 9:30 to 12:00. The car will be on display outside the museum building with a couple of other TR’s. Any other TR’s will have to park in the nearby main car parks (free parking).

We will leave Preston Park around 12:00 driving roughly the line of the 1825 Stockton & Darlington Railway, which was the world’s first passenger railway. We will stop briefly at North Road station (Head of Steam), before driving on to Shildon to the Locomotion Museum, where Locomotion 1 is on display.

We will display TS2 outside the museum for the afternoon, together with member’s own Triumphs. On leaving Locomotion, probably around 4pm, we will drive the short distance up to the Brusselton Incline. This was one of two steam driven inclines used by the S&DR to allow coal to be transported from Witton Park to Stockton.

Sunday 17th July

09:15 Meet at Exelby Services (Southbound) on the A19.

09:30 Drive from services to the Newby Hall car show

To get access to Newby Hall, you should either already have informed Allen Waller that you are going (so he can give you an entry pass), or you may have arranged your own entry pass independently. If neither of these, then I can’t promise you will get entry on the day, but you are welcome to join TS2 on the drive there.

TS2 will be on display at the car show all day, before being handed on to the Vale of York  Group.

If you need any confirmation of timings above, please contact Ian Robertson (triumphtrsix@gmail.com, 07492499594).
