Shropshire Group's Long Mountain Run

Shropshire Group's Long Mountain Run

The purpose of this run is to visit Martin & Helen's Open Garden at Moat Hall in Annscroft. So why the Long Mountain? Because I like the Long Mountain! And why Clun Forest? Because I enjoy the Hall of the Forest Road! Enough said!
We will meet at Battlefield Services. These are behind the BP Filling Station off the roundabout at the junction of the A49 and A53 to the North of Shrewsbury. Meet at 10am or earlier if you wish. There is a Starbucks and a Burger King on site. The Plan is to set off at 10:30.
I've picked an interesting route which takes us across country to the North West of Shrewsbury to Montford Bridge and the dips underneath the A5 to Ford and onto Westbury. Then we can drive in the footprints of Roman Centurions across the top of the Long Mountain. The views should be good.
Lunch will be at The Lowfield Inn, Marton, who have always looked after us. As seems normal nowadays, we will need to pre-order food. A copy of the menu is attached although I have been warned that it is possible that some of the main courses could be fine tuned between now and our visit. Please bear in mind that Helen will be laying on tea/coffee and cakes for us so it may be prudent to kerb your enthusiasm and go for something smaller or maybe a light-bight or a sandwich. Would you please let me have your food order by Monday 8th August so that I can consolidate these and forward them to the Lowfield. Thanks!
Finally we will arrive at Martin & Helen's about 15:30. Their garden is open under the National Gardens Scheme and prices, per person, are:

Entrance -£5   Tea/Coffee & Cake  - £4
