Red Rose Group - Red Rose Meeting and Combined Antrobus Classic Car Run

All TR Register members are invited to join us for a slight variation on our usual monthly meeting.

We shall not be holding our meeting at The Cock @ Budworth but instead we shall be joining the Antrobus Classic Car Run and holding a shortened version of the meeting after the run where we will be joining the picnic on the field outside the Village Hall at approximately 1pm.

All the details and for the day are below and if you haven’t been before you won’t be disappointed. The event is very well organized by Susan and Graham and is usually very well attended by local classic car owners including some rare cars that you probably won’t have seen before!

You can join us for all or part of the day but if you would like to come on the run can you please email us so we can pass on numbers to Susan so she knows how many routes to print out.

Registration for the run is from 11.00 - 11.15 when you will collect your route book and make your £5.00 charity donation (cash only please).

This event has previously raised funds for Village projects through the Run. This year the organizers are asking for a donation of £5 for the run (more if you want) to raise funds for PAPYRUS. This Warrington based charity (www.papyrus-uk.org) is dedicated to suicide prevention and promotion of positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people. After the impact of the pandemic on young people this seems a worthy cause.

Entrants will set off from approximately 11.15 on a circular run finishing back at the Village Hall.

The run should take about 2hrs and although it hasn’t been possible for the organizers to find a dedicated coffee stop that could accommodate everyone there are pubs on the route where you can stop for a comfort break and a drink.

Once you have completed the run you have two options:

EITHER

Bring a picnic to have on the field with the cars outside the village hall (although the hall will be open for use of the toilets, we can’t use it if it rains).

OR

Book a table at the Antrobus Arms (you will have to judge yourself how long the run will take you and decide what time to book your table to tie in with this) I suggest you book sooner rather than later if you want to secure a table. The pub has both indoor and outdoor seating.

There will be a concours judging at the Village Hall at approximately 3pm with prizes and there will be three classes: Pre-War, Post- War and Sports Car (any age).

It promises to be a great day out so why not come and join us at 11 for the run or around 1 for the picnic and meeting!
