The SDG Cannonball Run
Our year wouldn't be complete without this annual event which, I understand, has been going since 1982 and, once again, Paul & Jenny will lead us on an evening run through the Sussex countryside to finish with a fish & chip supper on a beach somewhere. 7-00pm meet at the Plough Inn, Plumpton. Please arrive in good time to give your fish & chip order and pay for it. Typically, a medium cod & chips is £6-50 with plaice/haddock a little more expensive and sausages cheaper. Bring plenty of loose change to cater for the exact cost of paying for it. The run will depart promptly at 7-30pm.
If participating, please try to have, at least, a drink (alcoholic or not) at the Plough before the run. This will only be our second meet at this new venue for us and we don't want to abuse the use of their car park i.e. fill it up, buy nothing, then all drive off and not return! So, if you turn up after we've left you're likely to be on your own.
We need to know the number of participants to advise the fish & chip shop in advance.
Please advise Hugh by Friday 8th June absolute latest and, in particular, if you require fish & chips at the end of the run.
Bring a chair and warm clothes. Paul & Jenny are adamant that we eat on the beach this year. No sheltering out of the wind in playing fields behind the beach!!
